FREE SPIRIT by Kittihawk11 FREE SPIRIT by Kittihawk11
She should be in a classification of 'wild', since she is quite wild, born wild and not approachable. She is a 'free spirit'. I submitted her picture in the 'domestic animals' simply because three generations ago her ancestors were domestic. We have tried to capture as many of these cats when they arel kittens so we can socialize and then find caring homes for them...she was one that eluded all our attempts to rescue her. With the harsh winter weather, hunting is more difficult so we do put feed out for her and to which she comes in the dark of night. At the time of this photo, she had made a very rare daylight shortcut across my deck. Other than my camera, I didn't move so she obliged me by sitting down to observe me.

  LOL...I guess she does with that ruff she is sporting. I would have liked to have caught her and brought her in the house, but then maybe she was meant to be wild and free. She certainly has all the equipment for our cold winters. :) Thanks for the comment.

 Thank you...she is quite beautiful and I believe she would have a sweet nature if she was socialized. Who knows...maybe we'll get her yet...or maybe, some are meant to be wild and free. Thanks for looking and the comment. :)

 :) She does, doesn't she. Normally I give all the animals names, but for whatever reason I haven't found a name to suit her and so I simply refer to her as "Old Mama's Girl"... LOL. The 'old mama' being her biological mother. If you have any suggestions for a name, let me know. :)
Thanks for the comment.

'Rogue' springs to mind. Is she spayed yet?

 LOL...you jest of course!!! lol. :) That is the ideal scenario, however as I said, she is 'wild'. We are not wealthy people...we couldn't afford to spay or neuter every animal that people dump...and there are many...too many. We do the best we can for the unfortunates and in the harsher months we feed not only the cats, but deer and moose and the birds. These cats are third generation and very wild and actually quite adapted to their environment. We did manage to catch most kittens and found homes for them, some even on the west coast, but there were some that eluded us and she is one. On the upside, we are going to make a concentrated effort to catch this girl, since her picture captured the heart of another deviant:) and she will spay her, socialize her and of course love her. She will have a happy ending if we can catch her. That is the project for this weekend, should she show up. :) But back to the spaying and neutering...we would if we could, but there isn't any discounts for numbers and the cost is very high up here. So wish us luck. :)

I wonder if there aren't any local shelters that have programs...course, i imagine you've already looked into that.

Shame, b/c the more there are, the more they seem to attract the evil humans.

There is a SPCA in the city, however they are full, also they don't have any spay/neuter programs other than if you are going to 'buy' one of the animals in the shelter. Then it is a reduced price.
